Dissemination of CCS

Currently (May 2009) around 70 CCS plants aiming at storing more than 700,000 tons of CO2 per year exist. The vast majority of these are located in Europe and America. In addition a few smaller pilot projects are in operation.

For a detailed description of the projects go to the Scottish Center for Carbon Storage, School of Geosciences, University of Edinburgh. The link leads to an interactive world map of CCS projects. Click on Storage and then Where is CO2 stored ?
